New Concept School, formerly New Concept Development Center, was founded in 1972. We are dedicated to the academic and cultural development of children 2 1/2 to 5 years old. Our curriculum is designed to foster team work and to challenge the the academic, social and physical development of our students as well as promote our heritage as African people. New Concept School is licensed by the City of Chicago, State of Illinois, Department of Children and Family Services and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Students eat healthy meals with fruits and vegetables and other plant-based dishes.

NCS graduates read a simple Kindergarten Level book.
